Minister Charges Promoted Aides On Dedication
FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has charged his aide-de-camp (ADC), Mr. Saidu Bala who has just been promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police to re-dedicate himself to the service of the fatherland. Bello gave this charge on Tuesday while decorating the officer with his new rank in his office.
The minister who was assisted during the decoration by Dr. Aishatu Abubakar, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Veterinary Department, Force Headquarters, observed that the duty of the Police should be professionalized. He added that police should help to fight crimes and criminalities in the Nigerian society and also help promote a better Nigeria.
Other aides also decorated at the occasion were Mr. Umar Mani, Escort Commander, promoted from Inspector to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police; while Mr. Muhammad Usman from Corporal to Sergeant.
He admonished the promoted officers to maintain high degree of discipline and loyalty to the nation; stressing that to ‘whom much is given, much is expected’.
The minister thanked the Nigeria Police authorities for finding the officers worthy of promotion and urged them to put in their best to justify the promotion.
He remarked that the promotion was in recognition of their good work and dedication to service; adding, “it would motivate them to do much more than what they’ve been doing in the past”.
The Minister, who recalled that the Police Command promoted quite a fair number of officers assigned to his office during the last promotion exercise, assured that the FCT Administration will continue to partner closely with the Police authorities to make Abuja a very safe place.
Dr. Aishatu Abubakar, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Veterinary Department, Force Headquarters in her remarks said that the officers deserve their promotions having worked hard in the discharge of their duties.
